Theresa Wilson

Theresa Wilson’s professional background includes more than 20 years of experience as a corporate manager and independent consultant in the fields of corporate philanthropy, communication, community relations and human resources.

Immediately prior to co-founding Lighthouse Blue, Theresa spent seven years as an independent consultant for a number of local organizations in the public, private and nonprofit sectors.

During her 14 years with a Fortune 500 high-tech company, Theresa created, planned and implemented effective and award-winning programs in the areas of business-education partnerships, community relations, corporate philanthropy, employee volunteerism and cooperative education.

She set strategy for the global disbursement of up to $4.2 million in grant moneys per year, fostered meaningful relationships with community and education leaders, and spearheaded the company’s investment in a public-private partnership to build a $3 million service center dedicated to providing educational and health services to the local community.

She was also responsible for the creation and implementation of an innovative cooperative education program for engineering interns, earning the company the title of “Cooperative Education Employer of the Year,” awarded by the California State Cooperative Education Association.

Theresa has served on the board of directors for the Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce, as a member of the Mayor’s Council for Economic Vitality, as president of the Sunnyvale Elementary School District Education Foundation board of directors, and as a board member/advisor for Leadership Sunnyvale. She has served as speaker/panelist on corporate philanthropy and strategic planning through a number of community forums. She also served on the Cooperative Education Advisory Council for the University of Santa Clara.

Theresa has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Santa Clara and a certificate from the Center for Corporate Community Involvement at Boston College. She is also a graduate of Leadership Sunnyvale.
